Dad’s, their Kids and Guns…Mom’s too
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
An event every month that begins at 10:00am on day Last of the month, repeating indefinitely
This is a wonderful time for parent to teach their children to shoot. BUT, if they or you need help, we are there to help you. We will not intervene unless asked or if a safety concern, it is a parent/kids time of bonding on the range.
We will meet before the range opens so we can move down range. The range will be closed to the public and it will just be us…and only .22’s rifles. We will start in the education room and discuss what we want our kids to do if they see a gun at their friend’s home. We will discuss gun safety and there will be a competition to see who can first explain those rules back to us (first kid who can tell us those rules will get money). We will then talk about shooting on an open range, go over the range rules and range etiquette.
We will then head to the range and will work on four shooting positions (think ROTC); kneeling, prone (bring a beach towel because the mats are very dirty), standing and we add one for the hunter…sitting. We will work from ten yards to twenty yards.
We then go back into the education room and debrief. It is an open forum and it will make you smile.
The kids do awesome and everybody has a great time.
The cost is $15 per child.
You can bring your .22, ammo and targets or rent one of our .22’s, purchase our ammo and targets. We will supply eye and ear protection if you do not have any of your own.
