Threat Focused Shooting/Practical Shooting/Low Light Shooting

If you carry a firearm, this is a skill that all should learn. We will be using our bodies natural ability to point. It is very fast. Can be used on the move and in low light. Multi taps are a breeze as we are not trying to reacquire the sights. Once we feel we understand this easily learned skill, we will put it to work…we will practice move and shoot (practical shooting). We will shoot as we carry, fire on multiple threats, use cover, we will move! Finally, to get a better understanding of the benefits of point shooting, we will work in low light…acquiring your sights will be difficult. Point shoot just became more important to learn.

Requirements: You will need your carry gun, holster, cover and have 150 rounds (you can use the ammo you want but you may miss a some of the party), eyes and ears or borrow ours. This will be great fun.

Concealed Weapons License Course

We have added one weekday class for those of you who can’t make it to our recurring Saturday 10AM class at the range.

Introduction to Handgun Fundamentals 2019

Introduction to Handgun Fundamentals

This is a 3 hour course which will cover the fundamentals of shooting. If you have had very little time handling a firearm or none at all this course will get you up to speed with the proper techniques you need to become a proficient shooter. In a controlled classroom environment we will cover everything from choosing the correct firearm to becoming a safe and accurate marksman. There will be live fire exercises with the main focus being safety. We will pace the course slowly to make sure everyone is comfortable with their skill level. The course will be a great foundation for you to establish the skills necessary for you to become a confident and safe marksman.

Topics Include:

Fundamentals of shooting
Choosing the right firearm for your needs
Safe handling of a firearm including loading and unloading
Proper stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control
Malfunction clearing
Controlling recoil
2-hand sighted fire (2 hand shooting focusing on the front sight)

Women’s CWFL Course

We are offering a new course for Women

Women’s Florida Concealed Weapons Firearm License (CWFL) Course

This course is the Basics Range and Gun’s Florida Concealed Weapons Firearm License course. However, as this course is taught by a female instructor, it will also address the unique challenges that women have regarding effective and safe concealed carry.

New Shooter (4th)

This course is on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Course Objectives

Learn gun safety! Understand ballistics, types of pistols, proper grip, sight picture, loading, unloading, safe firearm ownership and shoot multiple handguns from sub sub compacts to full size handguns.

We will start the class in the education room talking about gun safety; the most important aspect of owning a firearm. We will then work on proper grip with a revolver and semi-automatic (different grips are used for revolver and semi auto) using blue guns (dummy guns), work on proper sight picture with an unloaded firearm, work with snap caps (inert rounds) with revolver and semi auto (loading, unloading, making safe).

We will supply the guns, ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection and range time for the class.
